Development Diary 28 – Meals, Backgrounds, Programming and Animation!

Let’s dive into our Twenty-Eighth Development Diary, showcasing updates from our various departments and what they’ve been working on since our last update!
Part 1 – Fine Dining at Taverna Olympia!
To kick things off, let’s visit another restaurant that’s part of Olympus University – Taverna Olympia! If you ever get tired of the meals in the mess hall, this fine dining establishment has got you covered! Check out the menu below, designed by Peach:

Taverna Olympia is a classic dining establishment with multiple courses available – each with different effects, and they get fancier the more you spend! Give it a try with some extra cash, and maybe even order something for the Jocks. They each have a favorite here too – but who enjoys what dish the most?
Part 2 – Background Department
Next up and while food’s on our mind, let’s visit the background department, kicking things off with the 3D Design of another restaurant – available at the Acropolis Park, it’s called Ambrosia! Check it out below, rendered by Micman:

Ambrosia has plenty of meals to offer too (which we’ll check out in a later development update, but it’s the perfect place to capstone a date in the Acropolis Park! Take your date out to dine here and woo them with the atmosphere after a day playing outside!
Next, let’s check the painted background side, with a tour of Santomarino this time, now fully painted and rendered by Kyun!

Santomarino is one of the most beautiful places in Olympus City, and it’s full of things to do! There’s a great touristy area for pics and shopping, a delicious restaurant with some succulent seafood, and even a nice hotel for a romantic evening with a partner…
That’s all for the background department – but the city’s getting even closer to completion! Which areas are you curious to see completed next?
Part 3 – Programming Department
Next up, let’s take a quick visit to the programming department, who are working on our previously reported Weeks 1 through 5, the first arc of Jock Studio in game now! Please read our previous update for a little story info and teasers if you haven’t yet:
https://www.blitsgames.com/jock-studio-development-update-27/
One thing we’ve highlighted in several of these previous story updates is that the first few weeks of the game consist of the club recruitment arc. Just like everyone experienced in Demo 1.0 of Jock Studio, on day 1, Ace will join Jock Studio alongside your first Jock, forming the club!
But what happens after that? There’s still five Jocks left to recruit, and trust us, Jacques isn’t going to let the club slide without all of them. To recruit them, he’s compiled lots of data and references for Ace (and you) to choose from – the Jock Files! Check them out below, designed by TheMagicMan:

Until everyone’s recruited, you’ll meetup with Jacques, discuss who’s to join next, and make your choice of which Jock to recruit with this interface! There’s some differences to the story and gameplay depending on which Jocks you recruit in which order, so you’ll have to try lots of different combos to experience them all!
Part 4 – Animation Department
Finally, to close out this Development Diary, let’s continue our brand-new Missionary Animation Series, this time with Avan, our skillful swimmer! Check it out, animated by Monacodingo below:
Avan’s definitely the most skilled of the cast, and it shows! As you can see above too and as we’ve mentioned before, Puppet Animations are Fully Versatile, so you can have Avan top or bottom anyone you choose in any animation!
This Skill Variant is the second of the six variations of Missionary, so stay tuned for more previews and characters showcases later! If you haven’t, you can also check out Leo’s Stamina Preview below:

Closing Word
That’s all for this Development Diary, Olympians, but we hope you all enjoyed the previews and teasers! As a reminder, we have several disclaimers we’d like to emphasize again:

Additionally, don’t miss your chance for the exciting mousepad merch, available now!

Mousepads aren’t the only exciting thing now too – Union Max, our latest visual novel, releases next week on September 23rd, 2026, so if you’re interested in the game, please give the Free Demo a try, and wishlist or preorder the game to get it as soon as it’s out!
Thank you as always for your support, Olympians, and we’ll be back in October with our next Development Diary as always!
Lots of love,
~BLits Games

Hello! I’ve been following the game for a long time now and I’m so excited to play it. However, I’m a bit worried about the language barrier since my English isn’t very strong. We have a huge Spanish-speaking community that is dying to play this game, and we would be absolutely thrilled if you could consider adding a Spanish translation in the future! Thank you for your hard work! 🥹❤️
Porfavor disponibilizem as entregas para o Brasil tbm 😭😭😭😭😭😭
Imma play this game then kms, just surviving for this
Hi ! Thank you for the development update ! I always love to come see them every month.
I’m happy about the release year announcement, but take your time ! We’re all excited, but quality comes first, I think I’m not the only one who wouldn’t mind waiting a bit longer 🙂
So thank you all for your work!
On another note, when will we hear again about the “sexual role” of each character ? We voted on it, but if I remember correctly, this was just to see our preferences ? Will it end up in a taiga-like way with it being different depending on our choices in the beginning weeks, or are there set roles ?
Perhaps this is kept for a later date, closer to the release ?
I’m so excited for this! Would it be possible to get a Chinese translation? It would make playing the game much more immersive.
I wish the mousepads came with a digital image of the full art piece.
im excited for 29 btw
Most Side characters from the jocks routes are hotter than the jocks themselves:( Are you planning some kind off DLC in the future?
So true. Colt and Matt are my favorite characters so far.
Are the side characters getting routes? Maybe in a DLC or stuff? Man I would pay for a Dante route!
i would pay for a dante route btw………..
Don’t you think that you are making the game more complicated than it has to be? what I liked from previous games was unlocking all the images from the gallery but when I couldn’t get one image and had to look at guides it was kinda annoying, I just hope that content is not locked behind doing some pretty specific actions that is impossible to get without a guide, I would say that you write good drama and comedy stories, so you are the best at making visual novels in America however the mini games are kind of a hassle, I think that whey should be more action oriented or funny like when there is a minigame you are actually looking forward to beating it, I don’t know if you know of Danganronpa but they have great minigames, so yeah if you can make better minigames and I don’t know maybe the AI can give you hints to unlocking achievements or images so you don’t have to search for a guide that would be great in everything else I would say that you are doing amazing just don’t overcomplicate the game too much
Jock Studio is definitely a very complicated project, we agree.
A lot of the content in the game would be unlocked as your encounter them. Some are indeed presented as reward for making the right choices, or for giving certain gifts, but a lot of the optional content does not affect the storyline of a character.
To simplify, for as long as you build affection to a Jock and pursue them by going to them as often as you can, you will naturally unlock their content. There is a point in the game where you will be ‘locked’ with a route and at this point, most important content are automatically unlocked as you play through the game.
We agree that minigames have been seen as a hassle, so we made all of them skippable and optional, but rewarding for those who would play it. We intend to provide as many hints in a playthrough as possible to assist the player unlock content easier.
We are at a point where we need to commit to the features we have promised during the campaign, but we are cutting down features that add layers of complication, or variants that bloat up our team’s workload.
Thank you for your constructive criticism and we will do our best to keep simplifying the game to the best we can.
I actually like the idea of having some few image scenes hidden behind some harder-to-discover actions. Would be a bit boring if you’d discover every aspect of every character without really searching for it.
More food, nice progress and at least we see a focus towards the release. As much as we want to see this is multiple languages, hoping that the community based translation will come to fruition
Thank you very much for your regular feedback and comment!
I thought the jock recruitment was going to be recruiting other guys from the teams since all the jocks are already in the club for the demo. Not a full recruit, but get them in for some test pics. Still looking forward to the game.
The Jock Recruitment are only for the first few weeks of the game as you unlock each of the cast one by one, it stretches out the events between Demo 1 and 2 and will help the player navigate the game easier by learning all the mechanics in a smoother curve. Future playthroughs would render the first couple of weeks skippable to skip all the tutorials.
Guest Stars (where you temporarily recruit a character outside of the cast) are planned for after the initial release of the game. We intend to focus on the base game at first.
Hello, good afternoon! I hope everyone is doing well! First of all, I’d like to congratulate the entire team on your work; I am extremely eager to play the game and follow the monthly release notes. I’d also like to make a suggestion (while the game is still in development): could you release a Brazilian Portuguese (PT-BR) translation? I believe this would be a great selling point—attracting even more of the Brazilian audience that consumes your content—and a nice treat for the fans. Many BL-themed games are being released lately and becoming huge successes. Please give this suggestion some serious thought!
Thank you so much for following us for a long time and for sending encouragement to our team.
Unfortunately at this time, we have no resources and manpower to invest on a translation for any of our games. Our admin is looking into community based translation and we will make public announcement once we have progress with it.
Our focus at this moment is to spend most of our attention and resources into Jock Studio and get it released the soonest time we can.
Thanks for the reply and for all the affection you show us ^^.
I believe a call for community assistance would be greatly appreciated by everyone who follows the project, especially Brazilian fans (since, as I mentioned, I’ve seen the Brazilian community—along with others—offer to help with various BL game titles).
Please give it some serious thought; I believe it would be well-received by the audience! I’m looking forward to playing the game in Brazilian Portuguese.
Yes translation is to more languages is nice for more localised experience
