Development Diary 26 – Island Map, Side Character Sprites, & Trojan Takeover!

Let’s dive into our Twenty-Sixth Development Diary, showcasing updates from our various departments and what they’ve been working on since our last update!

Part 1 – New Map Preview!

A couple of Development Diaries ago, we showed off the Olympus City Map Sketch, teasing the city surrounding the town and where Ace can explore throughout the game. The city and campus aren’t the only locations in Jock Studio too – there’s a special map used for Spring Break, which you can see a sketch of below for the first time:

As part of the Kickstarter Stretch Goal, this tropical paradise is where the Spring Break Arc of the game will occur, and there’s plenty to do and experience on this island! Hang out in the pool, swim at the beach, eat all you want in the buffet, or just hang out in your very own private villa!

Spring Break represents a major, important point of the story in Jock Studio, and there’s lots more to show in the Island Resort here, but we hope this exciting teaser of the new map gets everyone excited with the possibilities of what’s to come!

Part 2 – Side Character Sprites!

Last month, we showed off many of the side character’s casual attires, but there were a few characters missing from the lineup still! We’re happy to showcase those who weren’t previewed before in their everyday drip – check them out below!

Just like all the other characters, this is the regular everyday wear for the rest of the supporting cast! Some of them have other, additional costumes too, but they’re a little bit spoiler-y, so we’ll save them for the full game!

Part 3 – Save & Load Color Selector!

Next, we have a quality-of-life feature that our programming team has been working on – color-coded save slots! Check it out below:

Pretty handy, right? When saving the game, your save slots will automatically be updated to the color code and house symbols of the character you’re hanging out with! For example, if you’re spending time with Zayne, your save will be colored purple with the House Zeus symbol!

Not only that, but you can also manually change the colors and symbols of your save slots! Organizing your saves has never been easier with this new tool!
